What I'm Thinking About...

"And they sang a new song:
'You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.'"

Revelation 5:9-10

A Tiger in the Grass!

Wyatt dresses up every day. He loves to pretend to be different animals- especially a tiger. When we watched Swiss Family Robinson, he wore his tiger costume for the whole movie (in honor of the tiger that eats the pirates). He loves to pretend. And on this day, I was able to capture some pictures of him doing what he loves to do. :)

creeping up...
telling me what he is about to do...
"leaping on rocks"...
showing me his paws...
discovering another animal...
ROAR...
taking a break...
"the tiger is resting"...

Why I Love my Job:

my very own wild thing
Walker's camo boots and beanie
dress up
boys playing outside
fingerpainting
sweet little moments like this
and this
my very own soldier (protector)
their brotherly love
Carolyn Mahaney paints a beautiful and realistic picture in her book, "Feminine Appeal" on being a full time mommy.
I've often struggled to say with confidence at an adult gathering
"I'm a mom".
But I'm growing in that.
And its becoming more natural to say that with assurance and security.
For I am exactly where I need to be and where these boys need me. There is no better call on my life (other than wife to my husband) than to love and nurture these two boys.
And I am thankful for the call.

Walker Outside

Walker is enjoying playing outside.
this is his big, happy face
I have a big pot with soil in it (needing a plant) and Walker loves to stick his hands in it and dump the dirt out.
And he loves to hang out next to the chairs (where I sit)
We live right next to the pool. I suspect the boys think it is "ours".

He does a lot of this.
And gathering leaves, dirt, etc.
and this...
and recently, this.
My boys are very in to hiding.
I love that you can see his little eyes.

Halloween

We had a really fun day. We all carved the pumpkin. Then put on on some costumes. Then went over to a friend's house and ate dinner/trick or treating.
cutting the pumpkin...
seeing inside the pumpkin...
taking the pumpkin insides out...
Walker's turn...
after we carved the face, we painted it...brown!
painted, carved pumpkin!
and lighted.
we were invited to a friend's home to eat dinner and then go trick-or-treating. the boys were great in their costumes. They were fully in character all night.
Wyatt: roaring
Walker: grazing (food)
peek-a-boo
ROAR!
sweet smile.
sweet face.
ROAR!
sweet.

Pumpkin Patch

Wes found a real pumpkin patch!
It is in North Charlotte, about 30 minutes from our place.

They had pumpkins on a vine.
Wagons for toting pumpkins.
Horse rides.
Baby goats and baby pigs.
Cows.
Hay rides.

Wyatt and Walker ran the entire time.
They were/are still wiped out.
This was how the last portion of our time there went...

Toting our pumpkin...and two sweet boys to the car.
Oh. Wyatt hand-picked our pumpkin:)
